Five industries, one contractor

Buildings for the sectors that already know what they need.

Cardinal has built commercial, industrial, institutional, municipal, religious, recreation and private projects across Northeast Wisconsin since 1980. The five sectors below are where most of that work has landed.

Municipal construction

Cedarburg Fire Station No. 2 is on the record here, and so is the job that started everything: Cardinal's first bonded contract was for the City of Fond du Lac, back when Dick Cardinal mortgaged his own house to secure the bond. Municipal work has been part of the company since the beginning.

Office renovation and construction

The full buildout at Jackson Kahl Insurance in Fond du Lac is the reference point here: a complete office renovation down to a custom feature wall and a monogram window detail worked out in design, not bolted on after the fact.

Ripon School District commons, built by Cardinal Construction

Institutional and education

The commons at Ripon School District, built to take a few hundred students twice a day, and The Club Teen Center for the Boys and Girls Club, where a curved timber and steel canopy carries the whole entrance.

A Culver's restaurant built by Cardinal Construction

Food and beverage industry construction

A full Culver's restaurant, stacked stone facade, branded awnings, pylon sign and all, built to the franchise's standards and the city's at the same time.

Warehouses, manufacturing and industrial facilities

Pre-engineered metal buildings are where a lot of this work lands: steel clearspans with no interior columns, higher ceiling clearance and higher R-values for a working floor. The Jor-Mac Company industrial building is one of the longer-running examples of it.

Beyond the build itself

Across every sector above, the office also carries the work that happens around the construction:

  • Project management
  • Coordination
  • Planning
  • Estimating
  • Bid management and analysis
